An AWS certification certifies the expertise in an area of Amazon Web Services (AWS). An IT professional receives the relevant certificate after passing the exam from the public cloud provider. IT professionals demonstrate technical cloud know-how and skills with AWS certifications.
AWS
offers a variety of certification exams for cloud developers, administrators, and architects. The AWS
certification is valid for two years. A re-certification is then possible.
There are several hundred exam centers around the world where certification can
be taken.

AWS Certificate Exam Format
The format of the exams for the
Associate, Professional, and Specialty certificate levels differ, but all use multiple-choice
tests with multiple and free-text answers. The tests are limited in time and
are monitored. Associate level exams last 80 minutes, while Professional and
Specialty levels take 170 minutes.
The exam questions revolve around
common AWS tools, services, and concepts. AWS uses statistical analysis to
evaluate an exam to determine whether it passed. Depending on the exam, the
value for passing the exam varies.
After completing an exam, the
candidate will receive his AWS certification results as a message in his AWS
certification account within 72 hours. IT professionals who achieve the
required number of points to pass receive an electronic certificate and access
to appropriate AWS-certified logos for personal and professional use. If you
fail, you can repeat the test two weeks later.
AWS offers practice exams,
stand-alone exercises, sample questions, and other study materials for a fee.
There are also service providers that offer training to prepare for
certification.
