What is a package:
When we talk about packets, we refer to the internet protocol. For example, each web page comes with a set of packages to communicate with an external system, and each email sent is made up of packages.
Networks that send data broken down into small packets are called "packet switching".
On the Internet, the network divides an e-mail message into parts of a certain size in bytes. These are the packages. Each packet contains the information that will take the message sent to its destination:
the sender's IP address, the recipient's IP address, number of packets on which the e-mail message has been split.
Packets contain data in the protocols the Internet uses: Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP). Each packet contains part of the message body and can contain between 1,000 and 1,500 bytes.
What is a TCP / IP packet:
In its least complex structure, a packet is the fundamental unit of data in network transmission. Most networks use TCP / IP as a network protocol or set of rules for communicating between devices. The information broken down into packets contains a data segment and the destination address.
TCP / IP is considered to be the packet switching technology, the main advantage of which is that data can be routed to a destination through any number of transmission focuses, making the organization decentralized and less powerless against hardware disappointment. What is the switch in Cisco Packet Tracer?
The software allows users to simulate the configuration of Cisco routers and switches using a simulated command-line interface. Packet Tracer uses a drag and drops user interface, which allows you to add and remove simulated network devices at will.
